Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic care locates and corrects vertebral subluxations, corrects structural imbalances, improves neural integrity, and enhances general health.
Chiropractic care helps to attain and maintain optimal health. Its primary focus is to detect and correct subluxations of the spine. Subluxations are a combination of structural, functional, and/or pathological joint changes that compromise neural integrity and influence our general health.
Subluxations occur when vertebrae misalign and impede communication from the brain to the body and/or from the body to the brain. The brain sends instructions to all parts of the body as electrical impulses that travel along the spinal cord and then subdivide into individual nerve fibers throughout the body. The spinal column houses and protects the spinal cord. The bones that comprise the spinal column are called vertebrae and nerves branch off between these at every level, traveling out to the body though narrow holes called vertebral foramina. When vertebrae misalign, these holes become smaller and impinge on the nerves. This distorts the communication between the brain and various parts of the body.
This interference may cause pain, tingling, numbness, metabolic dysfunction, or other health issues. These are only symptoms, not the underlying condition or disease. We can mask or turn off the symptoms with medications, but the condition that is causing these symptoms will continue to damage our bodies. Think of symptoms as the body’s smoke detectors. We can turn off the smoke detectors and pretend there is no fire or we can locate and eradicate the fire.
Chiropractors locate and correct the condition that is causing the symptoms.
